1. Community Insights & Impact Narratives
Impact in Health partners with community-based organisations, local champions, and frontline leaders to document, elevate, and amplify these stories through formats such as podcasts, short films, and mini-documentaries. Each story is ethically co-created, ensuring that communities retain ownership and narrative power while their insights become tools for advocacy and influence. Our aim is to turn lived experience into evidence, and evidence into action, influencing policies, shaping national conversations, and mobilising investments toward approaches that are already working on the ground.
High-Level Policy Statement on People With Lived Experiences & Community Engagement
Meaningful engagement of people with lived experiences, community-based organisations, and local leaders is a core requirement for building health systems that respond to real needs and deliver sustainable outcomes. Aligned with the WHO Community Engagement Framework, Impact in Health believes that policies and programmes must:
-
Recognise communities as co-creators of health solutions, not beneficiaries
-
Embed lived experience and patient voice in all stages of the policy cycle — design, implementation, monitoring, and accountability
-
Strengthen trust and transparency through respectful, inclusive, and culturally aligned engagement
-
Invest in community leadership and capacity as a strategic pathway to achieving Universal Health Coverage
-
Ensure decision-making reflects local priorities, particularly for women, youth, and marginalised groups
-
Promote shared ownership of both the problems and the solutions
Our commitment is to uphold practices that honour dignity, agency, and collective leadership, ensuring that community innovations influence policies, programmes, and investments at every level.
